About Me

My name is Danielle and I’m a Midwestern mac & cheese hog, cat whisperer, and nature lover (minus the mosquitoes, of course).

Most importantly, I’m a bibliophile to the core. As a kid, I used to spend my summers reading a book a day. I volunteered at the library. I idolized my English teachers. Now I’m a reading teacher. I CAN’T ESCAPE BOOKS. And I love it.

I started this blog to both document and celebrate the books & caffeine I consume. (And to help me pretend my book hoarding isn’t a problem….) You can find reviews of books, independent bookstores, coffeeshops, and beans here, as well as some other bookish posts.

Preferred Perk: I lovelovelove black coffee but am trying to diversify by drinking (and pulling) the perfect espresso. I also adore matcha lattes.

Preferred Paperbacks: I love to read YA, literary fiction, and am forever trying to catch up on the classics and redefine the canon we teach our children.

I currently reside in Northern Virginia, and dream of the day I can live in a cabin in the woods of Wisconsin (I swear I’m not trying to be a Laura Ingalls Wilder reference!).

I’m excited talk perk and paperbacks with you!
