My Review Policy

Hello, and welcome!

If you are an author or publisher, please read the information below before contacting me for a review copy.

My Reading Preferences:

I tend to read and enjoy Young Adult, Middle Grades, and Adult Fiction – this is how my reviews are categorized on my blog. Within those categories, #ownvoices, dystopian, historical fiction, and realistic fiction are my go-to genres. Characters who grapple with change, perception, and acceptance are my all-time favorites.

Because I am also an educator of adolescents (and connect with students and co-workers past and present about the books I read), I only enjoy reviewing sex-positive relationships; no abuse- or erotic-heavy content, please.

I’m happy to read finished copies, ARCs, or ebooks, although if possible, I generally prefer physical copies to an ebook, as I can feature them in my Instagram posts easier than ebooks.

My Reviewing Process:

I will do my best to honor any deadlines for reviewing imposed upon me; however, I do like to give review-potential books the time they deserve. This means I would love at least two weeks to one month to read and review anything you send me (depending on its length, of course).

As a recreational reader, I don’t write full-post reviews for every book I read; just the ones that highly impacted me, or have an important voice to share with the world. I am 100% honest in my reviews and will always discuss what I enjoyed, as well as critique the book. I don’t like to publish single posts on books if I think they’re less than two out of five stars. I may discuss them briefly in my monthly wrap-ups, or on Goodreads, but if I don’t like a book, I’d rather let others read it without any negative input on my behalf. If I truly cannot get into a book because of writing style, voice, pacing, or even plot, I will contact the publisher to ask for next steps.

If your book seems like a good fit for me, please contact me at Thank you for considering me as a reviewer for your book, and I look forward to hearing from you!
